Camouflage is everything

Many marine animals use camouflage to protect themselves from their enemies or to hunt better.

They adapt to the ground by pattern, color, physique and are almost invisible to the eyes of their hunters or their prey.

Stonefish are clammy and motionless in the reef to snatch at innocent fish swimming by, while harlequin ghost pipefishes are perfectly invisible between the arms of crinoids.
The Octopus is a master of camouflage and can quickly change the color of its skin to suit its environment, or use parts of the coral reef as hiding places.

Camouflage and deception serves to mislead other creatures and to ensure their own survival.
